Free Field Audiometry provides the clinic with an option for assessing individuals who are unable to wear headphones. Instead of headphones, the sounds are presented via a speaker placed in front of the patient. Spatial hearing is one of the most important parameters for speech in noise perception.

To assess this ability, Spatialized speech in noise tests have been developed. In these types of speech tests, the target signal presents to the patient from 0º azimuth and noise from 0º in one condition and from 30/60/90º in another.

AP12L provides the clinic with an option for assessing spatial hearing by dividing sounds into multiple loudspeakers.
